Kuriyama of America, Inc. was first incorporated in 1968 in Chicago, IL.

As a leading manufacturer and supplier of industrial hose and fittings, Kuriyama of America has been serving multiple markets for the past 50 years, including: oil and gas, pneumatic transfer, food and beverage, chemical processing, pharmaceutical, agricultural, wastewater, and more.

Currently, Kuriyama of America consists of eight subsidiaries and six distribution centers and provides its customers with one of the most diverse product lines in the industry.

Below is a chronology of the major events in the historical development of Kuriyama of America, Inc.

  • 1965

    Kuriyama Rubber Co., Ltd. opened a representative office in New York.

  • 1968

    Kuriyama of America, Inc. is incorporated in Chicago, Illinois as a wholly owned subsidiary of Kuriyama Rubber Co., Ltd.

  • 1974

    KOA moves to 546 Crossen Ave. in Elk Grove Village, Illinois

  • 1978

    Tigerflex Corporation was established as a joint venture with Kuriyama under the “Tigerflex” brand name.

  • 1979

    KOA opens a southeastern sales and shipping agency in Georgia.

  • 1980

    KOA opens an eastern sales and shipping agency in New Jersey.

  • 1981

    KOA moves to 1221 Landmeier Road in Elk Grove Village, Illinois

  • 1984

    Kuriyama Canada, Inc. is established in Brantford, Ontario, Canada, as a manufacturer of thermoplastic hose and tubing products.

    KOA opens a southwestern branch office and warehouse in Houston, Texas.

  • 1989

    Accuflex Industrial Hose Ltd., a manufacturer of thermoplastic hose and tubing products, is acquired in Guelph, Ontario, Canada.

  • 1990

    Kuri Tec Corporation was established as a distribution facility in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada.

    KOA opens its western branch office and warehouse in Santa Fe Springs, California.

  • 1992

    Accuflex Industrial Hose, Ltd., located in Canton, Michigan, is acquired from Accuflex Inc., Ontario, Canada.

  • 1993

    Newly expanded KOA warehouse and office facilities were completed.

  • 1995

    Kuri Tec Corporation relocates to Brantford, Ontario, Canada.

  • 1997

    Hose Technology, Inc., a manufacturer of metal hose products, is acquired in Williamsport, Indiana.

  • 1998

    Kuri Tec Manufacturing, Inc. was established in Williamsport, Indiana, as a manufacturer of thermoplastic hose and tubing products.

  • 2003

    ALFAGOMMA America, Inc. was established in Burlington, Iowa, as a joint venture with ALFAGOMMA S.p.A

    Accuflex Industrial Hose Ltd., (Canadian facility) moved from #50 Malcolm Road into their new facility at 760 Imperial Road North, Guelph, Ontario, Canada.

  • 2004

    KOA moves to its present location at 360 E. State Parkway in Schaumburg, Illinois.

  • 2005

    Piranha Hose Products, a manufacturer of plastic hose products, is acquired in Cadillac, Michigan.

    Kuriyama de México was established in Apodaca (Monterrey), NL, México.

    KOA relocated its Western Warehouse facility from 11920 Altamar Place to 10749 Shoemaker Avenue Santa Fe Springs, CA.

  • 2008

    Accuflex Industrial Hose, Ltd., relocated from its previous location in Canton, MI to its new location in Bellville, MI.

    Hose Technology Inc. was merged into Kuri Tec Manufacturing.

  • 2010

    Accuflex Industrial Hose, LTD., relocated from its previous location in Belleville, MI to its new location in Romulus, MI.

  • 2011

    KOA relocated its Southwestern Warehouse facility from 8919 Market Street to 531 Portwall Street, Suite 100, Houston, TX.

  • 2014

    Fortney Sales Company, moved to a new location at 4221 Cantrell Rd NW Acworth, GA from 1580 Big Shanty Drive NW Kennesaw, GA.

  • 2015

    Kuriyama Holdings announces the acquisition of the Tipsa Group of companies, including Inquisa in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

  • 2016

    A new building expansion joined Hose Tec and KTM with a common roof structure and 12 dock doors for efficient material handling/distribution.

  • 2017

    KOA relocated its Southwestern Warehouse facility from 531 Portwall Street, Suite 100 to 200 Portwall Street, Suite 100, Houston, TX.

  • 2018

    New Piranha warehouse and production floor expansion.
